Before investing millions in a capital project (or indeed tens of thousands in project development), the overall feasibility of the project idea needs to be tested.
We can provide feasibility testing at increasing levels of certainty – from a top-line study of basic viability to a more detailed study which sets out the ‘blueprint’ for the project and forms the basis of funding applications, detailed project development & delivery.
In commissioning a De Facto Feasibility Study clients can be assured of expert, reliable and impartial advice and a clear steer as to whether a project warrants further investment of time and money.

CABE, the Commission for Architecture & the Built Environment, asked us to carry out a feasibility study and business plan for the development of a new architecture & built environment centre for Essex. This commission included market research and needs analysis, project development work, options appraisal, business case and funding appraisal. It also involved extensive consultation with key stakeholders and funding partners.
Our work resulted in a robust study on which CABE were able to make decisions regarding a potential ABEC for the region.

This feasibility study was commissioned by the Lyme Regis Development Trust in order to test the viability of a proposed Field Study Centre in Lyme Regis. Our task was to set out the options available and recommend a preferred option for development, then to test that option further for feasibility.
The study included extensive consultation with stakeholders and thoroughly researched all aspects of feasibility - project scope, design, market, financial, operations & funding. We carried out specific research into the market for both day visitors to the proposed centre (e.g. school trips), and residential visitors, in order to inform the decision regarding whether to include overnight accommodation in the centre. We also investigated existing provision in the area.

This private sector project will be the focus of a major new leisure development on a waterfront quarry site. Current plans include a marina, hotel, retail, residential properties, spectacular sub-tropical gardens and visitor attractions. We assisted the project champion with an early-stage feasibility study which set out a proposed business plan, including an assessment of the market and an investigation into potential funding opportunities.

The objective of this Feasibility Study was to identify the potential for project development within the Moor Forest area of Dartmoor. The purpose of the project would be to achieve a step change in the level of visitor access and interpretation, and to ensure that a balance is achieved between these visitor benefits and the conservation of Dartmoor's unique built and natural heritage assets.
The assignment was carried out on behalf of three key partners: the Youth Hostel Association, Forest Enterprise and the Dartmoor National Park Authority. Our role was to facilitate and develop a project specification that would deliver partners' objectives for this important area of Darmoor. The final report included analysis, financial projections and other key business planning elements and provided impetus and direction to future planning in the Forest.
