All projects require investment, and hence a funding solution.
Quite simply, without investment, it simply won't happen: so whether you require investment from grant, debt or equity sources, De Facto has the experience and the contacts to get you the investment you need. In fact, in the last decade, De Facto has achieved what appeared to be 'the impossible' for many of our clients.
We work on the basis that a good project never fails to get funding, so our funding service is based, first and foremost, on ensuring that the candidate project is in the greatest shape possible.
As a result, we have secured many millions in grant and other funding for our clients - and from all the major funding programmes - European, UK Government, Lottery, Regional and Local Government as well as trusts and corporate sources. So when you trust De Facto with your business you know that you are in safe hands.
Our funding services range from a comprehensive financial appraisal which provides you with an outline of your project's investment potential, through to full funding applications, negotiations and the final stage when 'financial close' is achieved and you have all the funding that you need to carry out your project.

This small charity, established for teenagers with disabilities, runs residential activity weekends at an Outdoor Education Centre. We helped Active 8 secure £50,000 of vital funding from the National Lottery Charities Board, through two separate applications, to enable them to provide a comprehensive and stimulating programme of activities for the client group.
We also prepared a report on funding and partnership opportunities for a proposed project that would create a new activity breaks facility suitable for accommodating those with disabilities. We provided additional advice regarding fundraising and sponsorship ideas.

Mid Devon District Council asked us to help them find a way forward for this project, after 12 years of pressure from the community to return the square to public space.
The £2.6 million funding package we developed and negotiated involved multiple stakeholders - the Town, District and County Councils, the South West of England Regional Development Agency, the Devon Fire & Rescue Service and even the Army Cadet Force.
We subsequently managed the implementation of the project on behalf of the project team and ensured all funding was correctly drawn down and distributed. The project was completed in 2006.

This flagship project for Cornwall was De Facto's maiden project, with work prior to 1997 being carried out by Ingrid Heseltine in her capacity as New Initiatives Manager at Cornwall County Council. Ingrid and De Facto were responsible for helping to take the project from first thoughts, through the early stages of concept development, partnership engagement, design team appointment and funding applications.
The initial funding package we secured for the project totalled £28 million. This included £10m Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), £3m Objective 5b European Regional Development Fund and £0.75m Single Regeneration Budget Challenge Fund. The HLF award was the largest awarded outside of London at that time, and remains one of the largest HLF grants awarded for a new build.

English Heritage had plans for a project to bring a listed Barrack Block building back into use at one of their sites. They initially asked us to carry out a funding appraisal to assess the potential for securing grant funding towards the cost of the project. We identified several potential sources of funding and indicated how the project might meet the criteria of those funders.
We then helped English Heritage develop the project scope, carried out market research into the need and demand for the project, and completed applications and accompanying business plans to apply to ERDF and the Heritage Lottery Fund. We were successful in securing £0.4m from Objective One ERDF and £55,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund, enabling the project to go ahead.
